The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, with funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, is launching the Jockey Club ‘BaMa Chill Club’ Perinatal Support Project. This 3.5-year initiative aims to address the specific mental wellness needs of perinatal mothers and reduce postnatal depression.
The digital platform designed for a comprehensive mental health program is also a valuable research tool for universities. It facilitates user registration with informed consent, ensuring ethical data collection. Through screening tools, the platform gathers anonymized data on users' mental health status and demographics, helping researchers identify trends and assess program effectiveness. By tracking engagement with educational materials, counseling interactions, and therapy module usage, the platform provides insights into user experiences and mental health outcomes. Additionally, monitoring attendance at workshops and group activities reveals the impact of community support, while postnatal follow-ups offer long-term insights into mental health. Feedback from family-based interventions and regular surveys further enriches the data, enabling evidence-based improvements in mental health policies and practices.
